Database Overview

Ruangwa Local Content Database

The National Policy for economic empowerment of citizens in Tanzania coordinated by the National Economic Empowerment of Council (NEEC), in its 2019 guide, regarding the issue of the participation of local communities in strategic economic projects, first Chapter (1.2), it has mentioned the priority sectors, and in the third chapter (3.4 and 3.6), it has mentioned the responsibilities of local government authorities, private sector, and foreign investors, on the implementation of the local content policy.

In that guide, one of the responsibilities of the Local Government Authorities is to establish the local content database specific to the local workforce, and local service providers (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the relevant area, and manage it to ensure it is used properly and all development stakeholders involved in strategic projects within the relevant authority as part of the implementation of the local content policy.

In implementing the requirements of the Policy, and its guidelines, Ruangwa Social Economic Empowerment Organization in collaboration with the Ruangwa District Council, has succeeded in starting a Ruangwa local content database as presented by the Executive Chairman of the Organization on mineral economy conference on Thursday, date 26/05/2022.This database has the following main parts.

  1. DATABASE OVERVIEW
  2. RUANGWA LOCAL WORKFORCES
  3. RUANGWA LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS
  4. RUANGWA LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS
  5. LOCAL CONTENT IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINE

So, it is our hope that stakeholders in the development of Ruangwa District will use the database, and give priority to their various activities, especially on projects economically strategic as defined by the local content policy and implementation guideline.

Currently, the data is available at the Office of Ruangwa Social Economic Empowerment Organization, and the Organization's website www.rseeo.or.tz.
